As we gather this Memorial Day weekend at the beautiful waters of Lake Gaston, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Their courage and dedication allow us to enjoy peaceful moments on the lake with family and friends.

This weekend, we especially recognize the mission of Honor and Remember, an organization dedicated to honoring America’s fallen military service members and their families. Through their Honor and Remember Flag, they work to establish a national symbol of remembrance, educate communities about sacrifice, present personalized flags to Gold Star families, and provide ongoing comfort and support. Their mission reminds us that every family has made a sacrifice, and every service member’s life lost, whether during active duty or as a result of their service, deserves recognition.
