While the final results aren't expected until January, the Lake Gaston Association's annual "Full Lake Weed Survey" has concluded that very little Hydrilla was found but Lyngbya continues to be prominent in many locations. Lots of Water Willow was also reported.

These initial conclusions are reported by Wally Sayko in the LGA December/January Newsletter and are based on what were described as "volunteer comments."

The results of the Full Lake Survey will help determine the actions for 2018 by the Weed Control Council which controls public spending on weed eradication efforts in Lake Gaston.
